Jeep Willys to Barbas Bremen

Barbas Bremen is a reserve of native oak forest between Filandia and the Pereira side of the valley, and one of the few places in the region where you still hear howler monkeys at first light. You get there from Filandia on an unpaved track, and it is not a tourist road: it is a farm track. In the dry months it is straightforward; after several days of rain there are stretches where a Willys is the only thing that gets through.
There is one piece of practical advice and it matters more than all the rest: arrange your return when you book the outward trip. There is no mobile signal up there and you will not be able to call for a lift. Ask for a return in the same request and the driver knows he has to come back for you at a fixed hour and prices it in from the start, which is a great deal better than standing on a track waiting for someone to pass.
